Lecturer Joshua Tiong

Joshua Tiong has extensive experience developing companies across all stages of the organizational lifecycle.  Through his work with the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Joshua partners with Canadian entrepreneurs to scale up, be more productive, innovate, and expand internationally, with a specific focus on the ‘messy middle’ phase of their journey. He joined BDC after having built, grown, and sold a handful of tech-enabled services and software businesses.

Prior to these ventures, Joshua’s early career involved working with Fortune 500 companies in strategy, technology, marketing, and consulting roles, most notably with Avanade, a joint venture between Microsoft and Accenture. Joshua is committed to developing Canada’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems as an advisor, investor, mentor, and director.  He has been active with Kiwanis International for more than 15 years, where he currently serves as the President for the Kiwanis Club of Vancouver.

Joshua Tiong will be teaching BUS 314 this fall 2021!
